Mimurodo Temple

Mimurotoji Temple is said to be built in late 8th century on the request of Emperor Konin. Later, Emperor Sanjo and retired Emperor Shirakawa built the Sanmaido building, which increased the beauty of the temple. The temple was rebuilt after it was entirely burnt in a fire in 1460, but when its properties were confiscated after being lost in a battle in 1573, the temple came to a decline. The current buildings were rebuilt in the early 19th century.
